Haiti Mission School 2019
Each year for the past three years, Timothy Initiative has been granted the opportunity to send men to experience the depth of God's love through the Haiti Mission School. Led by Ayiti Underground, HMS is a rigorous training that allows students to experience the reality of mission among the global poor and to explore where Christ is in the midst of it. Haiti Mission School is not your typical "mission trip" where a group of people go and serve; rather, it is a trip led by Haitians and designed to serve those who go and help guide them to discover the realities of Jesus and the poor.
This year, two of our men, John Velazquez and Cody Camero, have felt a calling to engage in this experience. Both men have been a part of Timothy Initiative for two years; both are house leaders and at a place in their walk to embrace an experience like this. Cody told us, "This is the spiritual eye-opener that I need… I'm excited to see what this one of a kind experience holds for me and the team." John V. went on to say, "I feel like God is reaching out to me at this point in my walk, to teach me more about my faith... to lean on Him to find my identity."
The effects that the leaders of Timothy Initiative have seen as the result of Haiti Mission School have been profound. We have seen these trips bring men to the edge of themselves, to a place where they can profoundly encounter the Holy Spirit; they emerge from the end of the trip with a deeper, more profound relationship with God and a further understanding of the Kingdom. We pray for our two brothers, Cody and John V., as they embark on this life-changing trip and pray that Jesus will meet them where they are.
As members of the Haiti Mission School team, Cody and John V. have to raise a total of $3,500 to secure their spots on this trip. This amount will cover their passports, plane tickets, and living expenses while in Haiti. They are both working hard to earn a portion of this money, but we are asking for you to help them meet their goal; whether the whole amount or a small donation—anything will help.
